She is Assistant Professor. Her research activity mainly focuses on the development of therapeutic platforms, consisting of electrospun nanofibers and porous scaffolds, for the treatment of nervous tissue injuries (spinal cord and peripheral nerve injuries) and the management of chronic skin wounds. She is dealing with the development of innovative drug delivery systems (SLN in nanofibers) for the delivery of chemotherapeutic agents in the treatment of glioblastoma multiforme and in situ gelling formulations for the delivery of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agents and/or growth factors in the management of ocular diseases. She is also interested in the production of new sustainable and high-value biomaterials to be used for the manufacturing of innovative medical devices intended for skin repair.
