Micaela Giani is EMBO postdoctoral fellow at the department of Drug Sciences, University of Pavia. She was awarded her PhD in Experimental and Biomedical Sciences with Cum Laude designation at the Department of Biochemistry at the University of Alicante, Spain. She obtained her Master’s degree in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona and her degree in Biology at the University of Alicante. Her research explores the development of bioactive scaffolds based on insect-derived chitosans for wound healing application as part of a circular economy project.
